Lazer Tag, Salsa, and BBQ

This weekend was definitely a crazy one! On Friday, Jon and I chaperoned the High School Youth Group at the Lazertag Lock in. It was a lot of fun, but it was a very LONG night (10pm Friday - 7am Saturday). The kids all seemed to have a really good time! After all of the kids were picked up, Jon went to make up classes at LSU and I went to breakfast at IHOP with the other chaperones. I think that I slept until 2 or 3 pm on Saturday after being awake for over 24 hours! I had to babysit Saturday night and the kids were SUPER good and went to bed when they were supposed to! (I think they could sense that I was sleepy!) Today, Jon and I went to 7am mass and then to the grocery store to get meat so that we could BBQ. We also got to participate in the Chili for Children event this morning at LSU. We judged the Salas Competition - I hope we get to do it again next year! After the Competition we got to BBQ. As usual, Jon's BBQing was delicious! He make burgers, hot dogs, sausage, pork chops, veggies, and my favorite, Boudin! It was definitely a crazy weekend, but it sure was a lot of fun!

Katie's Bridal Shower

***All pictures from Stacy*** Today, we celebrated Katie at her first bridal shower! We had a nice day with great company, family, and food. Katie got a lot of great gifts! (We gave her measuring cups and measuring spoons that she registered for from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.) I think that Katie had a really good time visiting with everyone that came to the shower!

CHALLENGE DAY 2014

Today was challenge day! SJA and CHS went head to head with a score of 5 to 4 (CHS). I am proud to say the SJA has claimed the trophy for 2014 ~ making the score tie! it is now 5 to 5! SJA won every relay, except for matching. The best part about challenge this year - Alumnae got together at Schlitz and Giggles to watch the live feed of all of the events. It was a lot of fun to still be able to be a part of the excitement; without even being at the actual event. This year's challenge day score was 13-2 (SJA)!!!
GO STICKERS!!!!!

From the SJA website...
SJA dominated Challenge Day 2014, beating CHS 13-2! The Stickers captured all but one event in the 10th annual competition between the two schools. Prior to the action, the two schools joined forces for a food drive to benefit the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, collecting 5,564 pounds of non-perishable items which translates to 4,636 meals. Kids Fighting Cancer

This weekend has surly been a crazy one! On Saturday, LSU hosted the Susan G. Koman - Race for the Cure. Not only was I there for the 1 Mile Fun Run, but I had my first paid photography gig! Southeast Middle School hired me to capture the "Kids Fighting Cancer" team during the race and during the events. It was pretty hectic and I was a little nervous! The day went really well and they students were a joy to be around! Breast cancer hits close to home for so many people. After we lost Monique this year, I didn't know how easy being at this race would be. The race is all about celebrating survivors like sweet Mrs. Mollee! Mrs. Mollee is a 20 year survivor - she has had 2 rounds of breast cancer, Leukemia, and Lymphoma. She is one of the strongest women that I have ever met. I was honored to walk in memory of Monique and in celebration of Mrs. Mollee. For the first time in several years, Mrs. Mollee was well enough to walk the 1 mile! It definitely pulled on my heart strings to watch her walk across the finish line!

Disney Day 3 ... Magic Kingdom

Our last day in Disney was amazing! We went to the largest and happiest part of Disney World - Magic Kingdom! Today I spent the whole day with my group of girls and we even had some girls added in from another group. The rides and shows we went to were: Stitch's Great Escape, Monsters of Comedy, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Fun, Saw a Parade on Main street and got Ice Cream, Saw the Imagination/Dream Show, We got to meet Mickey Mouse, Went on a River Boat ride, Went to Tom Sawyer Island and walked through dark caves and across barrel bridges, Hall of Presidents, Watched the Philhar Magic Show, and It's a Small World. My group and I also did a little shopping and met up with Jon's group for lunch. We did SO much in this one day! In a picture below, you will see a picture that Jon sent me... He was "That Guy" on the Monsters of Comedy show when he went with his group. That means that they had him on the screen during the show and told his jokes! He was excited to be "That Guy"! The trip was fantastic and I would love to go back and spend more time in the parks if the opportunity comes up again!
