City Park Night With the Kids!

This week is Blake's last week of preschool! He is getting too big, too fast! Michelle and Patrick gave him a special treat for being such a good boy at school for the last few years at Seven Oaks Academy! He will be joining Madison at Saint Elizabeth in the fall!

Tonight, Jon and I took Madison and Blake to city park night in New Orleans! We had such a great time! I was surprised to learn that Maddie and Blake both LOVED the super crazy and fast rides. We rode on plane rides, car rides, pirate ship rides, and much more! Madison's favorite ride was the Mardi Gras (it made me very dizzy!) and Blake's favorite rides were the carousel and the tug boat! The kids were so good and they kept their listening ears on the whole time! I brought the stroller to help me keep all of our things together and the kids took turns riding in it from ride to ride! They thought the stroller was great and it really helped us out! After the park, we went to Burger King to get cold treats! Madison and Jon got Icee's, Blake got soft serve, and I got a frozen coffee! Everyone really had a good night!!

During the ride! Madison thought it was HILARIOUS that I was so scared!

Then and Now... 1977 - 2012

Today marks Mom and Dad's 35th Wedding anniversary!! They got married on May 21st, 1977 at Saint Aloysius Church in Baton Rouge. Now, 35 years later, they have 5 children, 2 sons-in-law, 2 grandchildren, and a grandchild on the way!! Mom and Dad have shown me what marriage means and what it stands for. They have been through tons of good times and a few very hard times, but they have always stuck together as a team no matter what. ("For better or for worse - In sickness and in health") I hope that one day my marriage will be as strong as theirs!

Pick Up the Pace and Join the Race with Bri!

Wow! What a hot morning! Today, Jon and I went to the Epiliepsy walk at LSU for Brianna! We got to walk the one mile with her and we had a blast! Brianna did such a great job! She designed some really cool tie-dye t-shirts that she gave to everyone on her team! We had a great morning! I hope that the race has/will raise awareness of Epilepsy to help people like Brianna! WAY TO GO BRI!

Madison Graduates From Kindergarten!

This morning, Madison graduated from Kindergarten! The graduation's theme was "Children Around the World". Madison did such a great job and made me one proud MoeMoe! :-) She got to do the introduction of France. She said things in French such as "Bonjour" and "Oui Oui" to introduce her group! She rocked the show! She also was a part of a Hawaiian dance and the "Promise" song!

Mother's Day and Rugby Banquet

Well, I guess I will start this blog by summing up some recent events! So far, 2012 has been a good year filled with excitement! Most recently, we celebrated Mother's Day. Mother's Day was a very nice day. Our family spent the day in Kenner at Michelle's house where Patrick made a fantastic BBQ. He grilled tons of vegetables and steak. Mrs. Linda made the desserts ~ Cheese Cake and Strawberry Cake! YUM!! I made a salsa and an artichoke cheese cake for the appetizers. I think that everyone really enjoyed their day!

The next night, Monday May 14th ~

Mom, Dad, Steven, and I went to Brother Martin in New Orleans to present the James C. de Brueys rugby award! The award was named after James because he was the very first rugby player at Brother Martin to play for 5 straight years. He played from 8th grade, up until he graduated as a senior in 2006. The award was presented to a senior who has shown leadership for 5 consecutive years. It was a very nice evening and Coach did a great job with the ceremony. Mom and I made the certificate that was presented. Steven did the actual presentation and Dad got up to talk about James' rugby years. After Steven presented the award, Coach gave Mom and Dad, James' Game Day Jersey. It was pretty cool! They had a great potluck dinner after the awards were given.
When we left Brother Martin, we stopped by Michelle's. We got to see her most recent ultrasound picture of Baby McCrary! I was so excited to see little hands and feet! SO SWEET! I am thrilled that I will be an Aunt again!
