HAPPY EASTER!!!

Today was a long, but fun day! I started off the day with 7am Mass with the Bajon's and Steven. After mass, we came home for the Easter egg hunt with the kids. Madison and Blake had fun searching all over the house for the eggs! We ate lunch at Mom and Dad's. We had smoked turkey and lasagna. At around 1, Jon and I went to the Matthew's. We did an Easter egg hunt there too! Soon the rain blew in and the rest of the day was spent indoors! Jon and I got a few Easter treats today from family. We had a great day!!

The Feast of St. Joseph

Again this year at Brother Martin, James' picture was placed on the altar. The Altar was so nice and so many people were there to view it.

Prayer of St. Joseph:

Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God. I place in you all my interests and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your devine Son all spiritual blessings, throughJesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you, and Jesusasleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls - Pray for me.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

This weekend, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day in a big way! On Saturday, Jon and I went to the Parade in Baton Rouge. We went to the Moran's first to park and visit a while and then went to several houses on the route. We saw Jon's cousins and their kids, Blair and Andrew, Trey (Jon's Actuary friend), Chris, and a few teachers from SJA and CHS. The parade was a lot of fun and we got to catch up with a lot of people.
Today, I got back to New Orleans early and took Madison and Blake to go get green snowballs ta Bubbies! Madison's flavor was Shrek and Blake's was Kiwi. After snowballs, we went to the park. The park was SO crowded but we had a great time. Madison and Blake played so hard and we fed the ducks and seagulls! This weekend was alot of fun!

We have a Pope!!

We saw the white smoke come from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel - And we waited...

The new leader of the Catholic Church is the Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio who has taken the name of Pope Francis. Bergoglio, 76, is a Jesuit from Buenos Aires and is the first pope from South America. He is also the first pope to take the name of Francis. The new pontiff stepped onto the Vatican balcony dressed in white to address the roaring crowd in St. Peter's Square where he humbly and calmly asked for the peoples' prayers. "Let's pray always for each other. Let's pray for the whole world. May there be a great brotherhood," ~Pope Francis

What an exciting weekend!!

This weekend brought me so much happiness! We had something planned each day - which is not usually the case! Lets go back to Wednesday/Thursday... Madison lost her very first tooth (on the bottom) on Wednesday. The tooth fairy was so generous to her! She got a dollar bill that was shaped into a basket. In the basket, there were 2 glittery pennies. She (the tooth fairy) even left her magic wand under Madison's pillow! Madison was SOOO excited!! On Thursday, Madison lost ANOTHER tooth (on the top)! The tooth fairy delivered another dollar and she wrote Madison a special note! On Friday, after class, I drove back to BR and worked a little at Mom's office while Jon was working. After, Jon and I went out to celebrate Michael Cain's 22nd birthday at the Olive Garden. We had a blast and even made some new friends. Also of Friday, Blake Was awarded his Yellow Belt at Karate! He did his form and broke a board. Such a strong boy!! On Saturday, Jon, Mrs. Angela, and I participated in "Race for the Cure" We walked for the moms of a couple of our friends and for a mom that I babysit for. After the race, we went to lunch at the Times. It sure was delicious; a very special treat! Thanks Mrs. Angela! Sunday was our study day. We took one break to go to the casino to earn some points to get a blender that was being given out. Well, wouldn't you know that the second we finished and printed out our voucher, they ran out of blenders?! Just our luck right?! HAHA. BUT, in lieu of the blender, they gifted us a voucher for $10. We played the voucher and walked out with a little green in our hands! This weekend was very exciting and filled with fun. Jon and I have Mid-Terms this week. Prayers would be appreciated!! Hope this week flies by... Crawfish will be waiting for us on Friday!
