Last night, we went out to Chili's with Kristin, Smith, Michael, and Lauren to celebrate Kristin's birthday. It is always nice getting together with friends and birthdays are the perfect excuse! Happy Birthday, Kristin!

What a semester! Bible studies are wrapping up and summer sessions are about to begin! Thank you so much to Mrs. Julie Holden for opening up her BEAUTIFUL home to all of us; and for the great lunch and get together! We had such nice weather and are so blessed and grateful for all that she and Mr. Craig LeBlanc do for our LSU Catholics!

This week I got the chance to take pictures for a friend of mine. Kristin is graduating on May 16th with her Masters in Education. After she graduates, she is going to work for Disney through their Disney College Program.

He is Risen!!

What a fun and eventful Easter we had! Michelle, Patrick, and the kids came on Saturday and spent the night. We dyed Easter eggs and they all went to mass while I stayed home with Samantha James! This morning I got up and Steven and I went to meet up with the Bajon's for 7am Mass. After Mass we came here and watched the kids open their Easter treats and we had the egg hunts (Inside - real eggs ~ Outside - plastic eggs) and played and talked for most of the morning. Later on, Andre' and John came over. When they got here, we gave mom and dad a a gift (Dad's b-day and Mothers' Day). We gave them tickets to go see El Divo in New Orleans next week! They were pretty excited! :) Then we had the adult Easter egg hunt! This year we had 4 eggs with $20 in each egg. Andre', John, Jon, and I were the lucky ones that found the eggs! After that, Jon and I left to go to the Hill's to meet up with Jon's family. When we got there, we got to make resurrection bread! (I am posting the recipe and story at the end of this post) It was a lot of fun to make with the kids! Jon's cousins opened their baskets and played while we were there. We couldn't stay long because we both had a lot of homework to finish for tomorrow! What a busy and fun day!

~ RESURRECTION ROLLS

Recipe and Instructions for Easter Rolls that tell the true meaning of Easter

which is the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is an inspiring family project that can be done on Easter Morning.

Ingredients needed:
Crescent rolls
Melted butter
Large Marshmallows
Cinnamon
Sugar
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
Give each child one triangle of crescent rolls.
Explain that he crescent roll represents the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in.
Read Matthew 27: 57-61

1. Give each child a marshmallow.
This represents Jesus.

2. Have him/her dip the marshmallow in melted butter.
This represents the oils of embalming.

3. Now dip the buttered marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar.
This represents the spices used to anoint the body.

4. Then wrap up the coated marshmallow tightly in the crescent roll (not like a typical crescent roll up, but bring the sides up and seal the marshmallow inside.)
This represents the wrapping of Jesus' body after death.

5. Place all in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
The oven represents the tomb--while you are waiting for the rolls to bake, read Matthew 27:62-66.

6. Remove rolls from oven and let them cool slightly.
Now the children can then open their rolls (cloths) and discover that Jesus is no longer there! HE IS RISEN!!!!
(The marshmallow melts and the crescent roll is puffed up, but empty.)

Enjoy your warm rolls as you rejoice at the good news of Easter!
