Memorial Day

Today, we spent a nice afternoon with Jon's cousin's at Stacy and Jim's house. Jon and I made water balloons for the kids and we had a water ball on toss and a fun balloon fight! Everyone swam and enjoyed a nice sunny day! Thanks Stacy and Jim!

Maddie Reads at Mass

Yesterday, Mom, Jon, and I went to listen to Maddie read at Mass. She did such a great job and spoke clearly! I was so proud of her for getting up and reading in front of her class, teacher, and school! Way to go Maddie!

James deBrueys Memorial Award - Brother Martin Rugby

Members of Crusader Rugby, their coaches, and their parents gathered this week in the Brother Mark Thornton Terrace to celebrate another great season. Coach Gary Giepert ’80 and Coach Lester Duhe recognized all players and then presented awards for most improved players as well as most valuable players in specific positions. Mr. and Mrs. deBrueys and their daughters and grandchildren presented the James deBrueys Memorial Award to those players who have been active participants since eighth grade. This award acknowledges their commitment over time to the rugby program in honor of James deBrueys ’06 who was a member of Brother Martin’s inaugural rugby team and one its first five-year players. deBrueys award recipients are Matthew Hood, Matthew Reineke, Seamus O’Connor, Ben Hailey, Connor Glennon, and Mitchell Maurin. The rugby team is looking for a “few good men” from grades 8 through 12 for next year’s team!

What a great day we had! This afternoon, Jon and I drove to Sorrento to help celebrate Lauren's and Michael's Graduation from LSU. It was a very nice afternoon spent with Lauren's family. Mr. Jay even took some pictures of Parker and me (it is nice to sometimes be in front of the camera instead of behind)! After the Graduation party, we drove back to Baton Rouge so that I could meet up with Jessica to celebrate her birthday at Mrs. Claudia's for dinner. As always, we had a great time. We celebrated with Jess' family, the Rossales family and Paige with Addison. It was such a nice day!

Ministry Crawfish Boil

On Saturday, St. Aloysius Parish held a special crawfish boil for over 300 Parishioner Volunteers at Heads and Tails Seafood! It was so delicious and generous of our home parish! We had quite a few people from Youth Ministries attend. It was fun catching up with our priests, friends, and other ministries! THANKS SAS!!

Jon Graduates From LSU!

What a Day! This morning at 8:30, Jon was walking into his college graduation to receive his undergrad in Mathematics! It is always so exciting to see milestones being met. Jon has worked very hard and I am so proud that he is finally finished! Now, he will get 2 weeks before graduate school starts... BUT he will be studying hard during his break for the Louisiana Notary Exam that he will take before grad school starts! He never stops... and I am so proud of his work ethic. After the graduation, we went to eat at Ninfa's (Jon's Request) and drank up some Margaritas. It was delicious! There, he opened a few gifts; and everyone was very generous!

The next graduation for us will be Jon's Masters Degree in Business Analytics in the Spring of '15 and my undergrad in Child and Family Studies in the Fall of '15. Very exciting!

Mother's Day

Today for Mother's Day, we all went to Andre' and John's house for a crawfish boil. The House looks so amazing! They sure did a great job on all of the renovations! John boiled the crawfish and it was excellent! I think that mom really enjoyed the day and enjoyed meeting all of Andre' and John's friends!

Men's Bible Study Party

This weekend, Craig and Cherri (and their 10 kids!) opened up their home to the Men's Bible study groups. It was a lot of fun being able to go and take some pictures! The back yard is set up as one giant obstacle course! It was hilarious watching they guys complete it! Thanks Cherri and Craig! It was a lot of fun!
